Planning for a family photoshoot allows you to have a good start so the photography session can goes smoothly.

Pick The Time

Get the right time of the day based on schedule of the family.  For baby and young toddler,  they should be well rested the day before or after having a good nap before the shoot.  For other family members, ensure to allocate plenty of time before and after the shoot so that there is no rush.

Choose the Right Clothes

Having a theme for your shoot will produce a more cohesive look in the album.   You can consider the same color tone for all members in the shoot. Let say a blue theme or a neutral earth theme which are the popular choices.   Some of the classic match is white shirt and jeans. However,  we suggest that you can consider different texture of fabric with accessories to go with the simple clothes.  For example,  a tie or hat.   There can be used as props in some of the poses.   For baby and kids,  prepare clothes that are comfortable for them,  so it will not restrict their movement to move around during the shoot.

Remember that as the photos will be for you to treasure for years to come,  so by choosing simple, classic clothes is what we advise because it will give the images a timeless feel.

Pick the Right Shoot Location

In Malaysia, weather is definitely a consideration.  Studio shooting becoming a fanstatic choice as a well designed studio allows plenty of backdrops and setup to choose from.  In the meantime,  we also love doing garden shoot. The grass, flowers and trees creates a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere and make everybody feel at ease.   For a garden or outdoor shoot,  we prefer to start at 8 am and ends before 9:30 am.
